Kay-Zee Knock-Out Punches are used to remove damaged micro vent inserts from the tire mold when insert replacement is necessary. These punches are manufactured from top quality tool steel with a special heat-treat and tempering process to resist breakage, while reducing peening of punch tip.
The most common size is 2.26mm (0.89") for 2.4mm (3/32") through hole.
Kay-Zee manufactures special Knock-Out Punches from 1.40mm (0.055") up to 3.2mm (0.125") diameter. We can supply many special sizes and lengths from stock. Kay-Zee can manufacture any diameter you may require within our size range.
The chart above shows the sizes and lengths that are currently manufactured and available from stock. Extreme sizes up to 18 inches long can be provided.
As shown in the picture above, the punch has a head attached. The proper method for using the punch is to have the punch shank approximately one half to one inch longer than the actual depth needed to reach the insert. This minimizes punch breakage.
