Pilot Drills

Pilot drills, manufactured by Ohio Drill, are used in tire mold manufacture and repair. These tools are used to drill the mold for installation of micro vent inserts. The non-cutting tip pilots or guides the drill into the thru-hole previously drilled through the mold. The non-cutting pilot aligns the drill with the original thru-hole and cuts the hole to the size needed for the vent insert. Then the insert can be installed with no over-size or alignment problems.
